Chai Crew founder, Eímear, tasted her first chai on her solo travels to Northern India in 2019. Watching the Chai Wallahs, roadside tea merchants, from Delhi to Rishikesh, perform their magic by boiling the tea and spices, then pulling the hot chai into a steaming frothy mix using pitchers, creating a spicy perfume that filled the air. The sweet spicy chai tasted as comforting as a warm embrace.

Eimear wanted to bring this unique experience of Malasa chai to Ireland – an alternative for coffee drinkers or a new taste for tea lovers, to heat up cold mornings, to spice up work commutes, to serve joy in every cup of chai! To become a true roadside Chai Wallah she needed a unique vending concept, and so she leaned into her other passion – Cycling! “I wasn’t sure how but I knew it would be connected to a bicycle”.   Eímear designed her bicycle café in October 2023 and Chai Crew was born.
